If using GF Glaze Medium over Chalk Paint® - always seal your paint prior with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat and let fully dry. Then use the General Finishes Glaze. Basically, you make a sealer sandwich.
Adding General Finishes EXTENDER to your glaze will extend your open time to manipulate it.
Always seal your dried glaze with an additional coat of the General Finishes High Performance Top Coat. DO NOT APPLY OVER ANNIE SLOAN WAX! When using GF Glaze over Chalk Paint- YOU DO NOT APPLY OVER WAX or beneath. When using GF glaze- use it with the High Performance Top Coat only. The steps would be to seal the chalk paint with a coat of the High Performance FIRST and let dry. THEN....apply the glaze per directions. Let dry. Then- seal again with the HP Top Coat. We like to call this a "sealer sandwich." The chalk paint is so porous that if you put the glaze directly on it- you will a hard time manipulating it and the chalk paint will absorb too much of the color.
