Woodworkers love the lustrous finish that shows up.
Heavy-bodied, and so does not penetrate as deeply into the wood as liquid oil-base stains do
Can help you get a more even appearance on difficult woods such as aspen or pine
Easy-to-use stains simply wipe on with a cloth or applied with a foam brush (no spills or splashes)
This Antique Walnut Gel Stain (1 PINT SIZE)from General Finishes is quite possibly one of the easiest of all finishes to use and achieve a "hand-rubbed" look without all the work. Application is easy with a foam brush or lint free cloth- we have even used chip brush. The heavy bodied gel formulation permits the product to flow out evenly (no drips or runs...unless you are just plain ole' messy) preventing uneven penetration for consistent color control. Combined with no sanding (your choice to sand or not) between coats and a quick re-coat time, you will be finished sooner with less effort and better results than ever before. It is recommended to protect the top with using either the General Finishes Satin or Matte Top Coats available here on our website OR use your Annie Sloan Wax if you already own it. Please note- there are NO RETURNs. You will find this for every stockist. But think about it- would you ever want a quart of paint or your Black Gel sent to you - that was shipped to someone else prior? We eliminate any potential issues with this policy. With that said- we apologize for any issues this may cause. Choose wisely and do not spontaneously purchase a color if unsure. OK? In fact- if you need help in deciding- ask us. We are here to help you! : ) California Proposition 65 Attention California Residents: California's Proposition 65 entitles California consumers to special warnings for products that contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm if those products expose consumers to such chemicals above certain threshold levels.
