Flat Out Flat Self Cross Linking Acrylic Topcoat
FOF is a truly "Flat" water based topcoat with a velvety look and feel. Made with a durable self cross-linking acrylic, its performance characteristics are similar to High Performance. In addition it may be used over or under High Performance.
NOTE though- for cabinetry - Flat Out Flat is not recommended.
APPLYING OVER GEL STAIN?:
Flat Out Flat goes great over the Gel Stains we offer! When using Gel Stain's- LIKE A STAIN- (normal application, wiping the Gel back off).....where you can wood grain showing through the finished piece- follow the wait and cure time noted on the container- which is waiting at least 48-72 hours. BUT- if using the Gel Stain for fuller coverage, like a paint- THEN the waiting time between the last application of Gel Stain and your first application of a Flat Out Flat, should be longer. That wait time is dramatically increased if the Gel is “painted on.” It can sometimes take up to a week for the Gel to “off-gas” and dry when it is applied using the ‘painted on” method.
Applying this top coat over a large flat surface like a table top? General Finishes recommends using a 6" Painter Pad with a "stocking footie" over it to apply your High Performance Top Coat. We sell the pads HERE => http://shop.thepurplepaintedlady.com/Warners-6-Multi-Painter-Pad_p_408.html
COVERAGE: 75 sq ft per pint
CLEAN UP: warm, soapy water

Read the back of the container prior to using and respect suggested dry/cure times!IMPORTANT NOTES:
Oil based stains must be completely dry before using a water based top coat. Wait a minimum of 48 hours before applying FOF or any of our other water based topcoats.
Flat Out flat is not recommended for high use areas such as cabinets and table tops. Use High Performance or Arm-R-Seal instead.
