Country Grey in sample pots are now packaged in small tins versus plastic pots.
Annie Sloan's Country Grey is a putty color using greenish raw umber, and is a really useful color. It's terrific on its own and with white or for distressing as a top coat with Cream or Scandinavian Pink underneath. It is generally seen as a more rustic color good for a country look rather than the chateau. Country Grey- the color is different than what was packaged back at the end of 2018 / early 2019. Annie Sloan took over the distribution of her products in North America. Annie's products are sold in over 60 countries and North America was the only one - where the pigments were slightly different and the packaging was different. So, to bring us inline with all the other countries, a change was made and the color of Country Grey drifted. It once had a slight tinge of sage....or a soft green to it. The paint is more like a puddy or a neutral and that slight sage - is no longer.
Another way to use it is to mix it into another color such as Chateau Grey or Duck Egg Blue to make them paler and knocked back. I like Country Grey paired with Antoinette!

Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan is sold all over the world. Russia, Germany, Spain, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Italy, Greece and Mars. (only joking about Mars....but maybe someday!) Through out 2019.....the packaging of paint will be transitioning so all countries are aligned and in the USA, the 32 ounce quart (being a little redundant there......lol) containers will be going to liters...which is around 34 ounces. This means....a little more paint for the same price. Sample Pots will remain the same amount of paint.
You will find the Country Grey in the tins will be slightly thicker- here are some tips when using:
1. A light touch with your brush is needed. It spreads much more easily than trying to push the paint around. Using an Annie Sloan paint brush is important.
2. A spray bottle will be your new best friend and you may find it will really help if you are painting in a linear motion.
3. Use your spray bottle to wet sand with Annie's sanding pads. You will find that it distresses the paint beautifully!

The paint itself will harden but the wax will truly protect it! The wax does completely harden and it becomes hard and is water repellent.
