Coral Red is a charcoal red with subtle hints of silver and copper metallic fakes. Though the name may make you think of orange, this shade is a lighter, more bronzy alternative to a red wine color.
Gilders Paste is a wax-based medium used to highlight metal, wood, ceramics, polymer clay, bisque, candles, gourds and more! Often times, when the wax hardens after being poured, the paste can crack, so don't be surprised if yours arrives that way. We recommend adding mineral spirits or turpentine to soften the paste and make it more brush-able!
Apply Gilders Paste with finger, sponge, toothbrush, paintbrush or cloth in a rubbing motion or use other creative mediums to produce a unique finish. Layer on top of one another or mix to create different finishes or an endless color palette. Thin out with paint thinner to transform the highly concentrated Gilders Paste for brushing, sponging, staining, washing or spray painting.
Gilders Paste® is a wax-based medium to accent or color various backgrounds including wood, metal, baked polymer clay, ceramic, leather and more.
Apply with finger (gloves recommended), brush, cloth or sponge to create a myriad of effects. Colors can be mixed or layered for an endless palette of designs.
Paste dries to the touch in 10-15 minutes with a recommended complete dry time of 12-24 hours. Once dry, polishing with a soft cloth will bring out a luster finish. Applying a water-based acrylic top coat is recommended. If desired, designers can thin out with paint thinner or mineral spirits to transform the highly concentrated paste to a preferred consistency. Use in a well-ventilated area. A little Gilders Paste® goes a long way, a 1-ounce tin covers over 30 feet--that's a lot of applications!
Colors may vary slightly.
Haven't used your Gilders Paste® in your most recent projects and wondering if it's gone dry? This wax paste has an endless shelf life. Just mix in a few drops of paint thinner, mineral spirits or turpentine. Place the drops in one area and add more paste or thinner as needed to produce the quantity or viscosity desired. Depending on the amount of time the paste has sat, this procedure can take 1-10 minutes. There is no need to try and mix up the whole tin at once since Gilders Paste® wax will go a very long way.
