Annie Sloan's Pure White is the quintessential soft white.  Pure is the whitest of all Annie's "white's" BUT note in Trish's opinion, it has the slightest bit of creaminess to it.   Annie says, "Perfect for modern interiors, this cool, clean white makes a crisp contrast with strong colours. Please note: this pure white has the least covering power of all the colours so may require more than one coat or is best applied over a coat of Country Grey. "  Pieces painted in Pure Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan sometimes need a little more TLC ......if you find you get bleed through after the first or second coat of paint, keep in mind it will continue to bleed even after the 5th coat! Remember.... that “white” color paints have less color blocking pigment so you may need an extra coat.

1 Litre will cover around 120 square feet...give or take!

If debating between this color and Old White or Old Ochre Chalk Paint®, visit this link here => https://www.thepurplepaintedlady.com/2014/04/difference-between-annie-sloans-white-chalk-paint-colors/

Now - Pure White by default- does not have as much color blocking ability per say, Provence. So, Annie Sloan herself suggests using Country Grey as a base over surfaces that are dark and that you are painting with Pure White. This creates a great base of blocking ability and will actually save you from painting more coats of Pure White than you would like to.

PACKAGING CHANGED TO LITERS! ~

OPENING & CLOSING of the LIDS on Litre containers: CLICK and  Watch this video HERE on our YouTube channel to see how it is done   VERY IMPORTANT INFO REGRADING OPENING THE LIDS ON THE LITRES:To remove the lid on the liters, gently wedge a paint can opener or a blunt object, like the end of a spoon's handle under the lid. Gently and patiently, go all the around the lids edge by turning the paint can 360 degrees. This will gently lift the lid without denting it.

Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan is sold all over the world. Russia, Germany, Spain, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Italy, Greece and Mars. (only joking about Mars....but maybe someday!) At the end of 2018- Annie's paint in QUART containers were retired.  In 2019.....the packaging of paint transitioned so all countries are aligned and in the USA, and the 32 ounce quart (being a little redundant there......lol) containers and now packaged in liters...which is around 34 ounces.

The consistency became slightly thicker.

In regards to Pure White.  Annie changed the name to only PURE.  It is still the brightest white in her suite, but I feel it is slightly softer and not as COLD or stark.  It is very similar BUT NOT THE SAME.  If you were painting cabinets and did one door in the Pure White from the QUART and the next door with Pure from the LITRE....I feel- you will see the difference.  So, please take this into account.

But if you had a buffet across the room in Pure (LITRE) and your cabinets were painted in Pure White (QUARTS)....I feel you would not notice it at all!

You will find the Pure White in the liters will be slightly thicker- and perhaps not quite as bright as the Pure White in liter.    here are some tips when using:
1. A light touch with your brush is needed. It spreads much more easily than trying to push the paint around. Using an Annie Sloan paint brush is important.
2. A spray bottle will be your new best friend and you may find it will really help if you are painting in a linear motion.
3. Use your spray bottle to wet sand with Annie's sanding pads. You will find that it distresses the paint beautifully!

Don't forget when purchasing Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan- to consider purchasing her Clear Wax also. Annie's paint and wax were created to partner perfectly together! The paint itself will harden but the wax will truly protect it! The wax does completely harden and it becomes hard and is water repellent. It is a wonderful protective finish that you can buff once dry- to the sheen you desire.
